I have the following screen: Elite Screens Starling Tab-Tension 2, 120" 16:9, 14" Drop, Tensioned Electric Motorized Projector Screen, STT120XWH2-E14.The screen came with 14 inches of extra black space at the top of the screen.

The tab tension system does it's job very well!

Tab-tensioning uses a pair of concave wires at either side of the screen pull the screen flat using the weight of the bar at the bottom of the screen.
