I love the small size but don't let that fool you, the sound quality is amazing.

I liked the size and color, I had to use gloves during the installation due to the highly gloss

I can just tell you that the sound easily fills up our large master bedroom (about the same size as our TV room actually) with crystal clear sound and the perfect amount of bass.

Mind you, I have a 24 x 14 living room ( a good size) and these speakers fill the sound quite sufficiently

As far as I heard, 8" is a good size in order to generate good low frequencies at home

I can verify that the 5/16" drill bit they say to use is the correct size, so make sure you get brackets sized for that bit if you go this route

The speakers are small and can't produce the range and quality of sound that you will find in an expensive, full size system

The center channel is a nice size speaker, and it delivers good quality voice that's not too "tinny"

The size of these speakers are great as it gives you several options to positioning them including setting them on a bookshelf, mounting them on stands, or mounting them on walls/ceilings (recommend videosecu mounts).I also have a first generation pioneer andrew jones 5.1

Just make sure to buy some 1/4-20 bolts because the stands from Monoprice do not come with the correct size to fit these speakers.
