I looked at Epson, Canon, and HP; all of which offered good quality and good pricing, but Epson was the only line that offered the Eco(nomy)Tank design.
-
, the price per print is now way lower than the laser printer, and no more inkjet cartridges! The Epson ET-2650 uses the Eco-Tank system
-
If I had been buying cartridges, I figure I would have used 3 sets of 4 different colors (12 x $30) just so far, so the Eco Tank design has paid for itself.
-
The eco tanks (if they hold up) contain a heckuva lot of ink.2
-
The print quality is not bad, wireless printing is easy and the Eco-tank feature is very good, but be VERY CAREFUL if you need to print on Card Stock regularly: it is INCREDIBLY finicky
-
I bought this for the eco-tank feature after going through 3 Canon printers in about 5 years, the last one lasting less than 6 months
-
But I would NOT buy one of these, once there is an alternative "eco-type" printer with auto duplex and reasonable scan / print quality available.
-
Do NOT buy anything from the Eco Tank line--apparently since they get their money up front they didn't care if you could actually use the printer once you've bought it.
-
If this poor quality is what we can expect from the eco tank line then it's a no go ..
