We use this primarily for outdoor movies and it does not have to be pitch dark at all to get a perfect picture, which is nice as we can keep the pool light and porch lights on for those not watching the movie

I noticed that the ex7233 was wxga but the picture was like smeared and then looked at the picture quality of the vs240 and to me it seemed sharper but the only draw back was that there are visible lines going vertical and horizontal on the screen.
