You either buy genuine Epson cartridges, or you have to buy bottles of ink and try refilling it yourself

I broke down and purchased Epson cartridges.

The good thing is even the OEM ink is cheaper than the cheapest generic cartridges for either my Samsung or Canon

This printer has nasty chips in each expensive cartridge that BLOCK any non-Epson ink

New firmware rejected the non-Epson cartridges, putting me immediately out ca $75, plus another $60 for so-called “genuine” Epson kit.

The pricey Epson ink cartridges are definitely a major bummer, but overall this is a really great/reliable printer that I am happy with, and have no reservations in recommending IF you're okay with the current price of the ink

Epson has made it so that it only accepts proprietary ink cartridges.

However, if i disable the wireless and use the ethernet port everything works as it should.
