Put these on my fender bass, and the tone is great.
-
Great tone, great price
-
These strings are seriously heavy, and will help you achieve a really fat tone
-
Didn't like the tone these make on my Fender Jazz Bass.
-
Great tone (much brighter, naturally, than flatwounds), and they work well for gospel, blues, funk, and soul.
-
What's there to say about these strings that hasn't been said? They keep a solid tone for (in my case because I play rarely) 4-6 months
-
These have a great soft feel and a great tone with less finger and fret noise.
-
Good tone shiny and bright.
-
They have great tone quality, too
-
good tone
-
Okay I know tone is subjective, but, These strings provide my ideal tone
-
rich and full deep tone from the set.
-
Great feel and tension good tone not overly abrasive feeling or sounding
-
Regulars are thin enough for slap but thick enough to still give that chunky bass tone
-
they have a nice fat tone reasonably bright sound on my Fender Jazz bass work great for hard rock and metal
-
Nice tone and great for many different styles of music
-
So, I wanted a brighter sound for my P-bass for good tones for slap/pop style
-
Sound is of course the most important thing about strings and they deliver superior tone over the competition
-
I use them on a passive bass and they seem to work well with some slap tones which is good
-
Stiff but nice tone, reasonably priced
-
I am using these on a four string using the low b in place of my e and then only leaving out the e tuning it standard love the tone
-
the low C is a pants-flapper and honest tone - no breakup
-
These strings add a wonderfully bright tone to any bass, both cheap and expensive.
-
less break in time, long lasting, great tone, custom gauges, stay in tune, cant beat em for the money
-
i play metal / hard rock and have used many different strings, these give the best tone and depth you need to play hard music
-
If you are looking for booming lows and presence in your bass, then I would probably go with strings of a thicker gauge (maybe the Regular Slinky or Power Slinky bass strings), but if you desire brighter tones reminiscent of funk and punk music as I do and want something lighter to pop and slap with, then look no further than the Extra Slinky bass strings by Ernie Ball.
-
Bright springy tone long lasting.
-
With a pick, you can get a clear, metallic and responsive tone.
-
New strings is the cheapest way to improve your bass tone (well other than practicing more lol)
-
Exactly what I was expecting - nice even tones
-
they have a nice fat tone reasonably bright sound on my Fender Jazz bass work great for hard rock and metal
-
They are a joy to play, and have an absolutely monstrous tone!
-
Long lasting, great tone and smooth on the fingers
-
I like the tone and they are very playable
-
Worked just fine for around 6 months before they lost tone with heavy playing.
-
amazingly fast strings with excellent tone for a low price.
-
As always Ernie ball delivers great tone, in a pick player and I use only these strings for playing punk, metal, and blues, but great for all around sound
-
Amazing feel and tone.
-
Very nice crisp tone.
-
They liked the tone of them.
-
20 years later I still trust Ernie Ball strings to provide me with the smooth and warm tone.
-
Nice clear tone, with growling mids and powerful low end
-
Great rich tone, especially when drop tuning
-
Not only do they produce a bright, crisp sound on the highs but they also have excellent punch on the mid-range and clear, distinct tones on the low end
-
I play punk rock and this strings def give me the classic punchy tone I like
-
They make playing fast easy and can still provide a fat tone when necessary
-
Coated Nickel Bass Guitar Strings, Medium" set (these ones shine with dark fluorescent light) and found a better tone according to my needs
-
I own both 4-string and 5-string bass guitars, and these guys give me the perfect tone
-
Great tone for rock, funk, slap, whatever
-
They have a nice crisp, punchy, full sounding tone and if taken care of can last you a bit
-
They are so smooth and create a wonderful tone
-
Love the tone they provide.
-
Strings Bass set, great tone, great price
-
The tone is like a really good, broken-in Flatwound string, with virtually no sparkle at all [and my bass will sparkle with bright strings].
-
These Ernie Ball strings sound awesome, for those that prefer a crisp tone.
-
Used these, and they completely lost their tone after only 2 gigs
-
They seem to last longest, have best tone, and are priced right
-
Coated Nickel Bass Guitar Strings, Medium" set (these ones shine with dark fluorescent light) and found a better tone according to my needs
-
They had awesome tone but didn't last as long as I needed
-
Unlike the guitar version of Power Slinkies, which complicate bends and can make chords more difficult because of the smaller gap between strings and the increased pressure required to produce a good tone, these strings are fantastic for any style of bass playing
-
Let me preface by saying these are not my preferred brand, as I generally play flatwounds and like a dead-er tone
-
I own both 4-string and 5-string bass guitars, and these guys give me the perfect tone
-
These strings serve a long effective life with a consistently good tone throughout it
-
V. Good balance and solid tones keep me coming back to buy these strings
-
So glad I picked these - the tone is great!
-
I guess I could say ,heavy tones can't really get a bright tone out of them wich is kind of a downside when I want to play music that needs it
-
The tone is like a really good, broken-in Flatwound string, with virtually no sparkle at all [and my bass will sparkle with bright strings].
-
Just try a set of these strings you won¨t regret it
