This outweighs the cheaper detectors because It has an amazing 360 degree protection

and I've become a pretty big advocate for it, I recommend this detector to anyone who's in the market to buy one

Talking about design, the suction cups included and used to support radar detector are not at the same level of quality at this price level

The detector is VERY sensitive, which at times can be annoying, but that has become acceptable for me as it has alerted me to many speed traps and unmarked cars to name a few.

This unit seems to have as many if not more false alarms as my old detector.

My old detector (not an escort) is going on 6-8 years old now and has always worked great until recently I have been getting a lot of false alarms.

The smartcord also has a mute button, which makes it easy to mute if the detector picks up a false alarm

Don't expect this detector to save you from laser though - like all radar detectors, it simply can't warn ahead of time for speed traps using laser.
