Great radar detector, but I hear more and more people complaining about this thing dying on them why updating and you have to update to get the latest speed traps and red light cameras

I can be out in the middle of nowhere with no other cars or buildings around and this thing will occasionally indicate a relatively strong radar detected.

I have tried the more expensive passport radars, as well as the valentine 1, and countless others.

I'd say get the Rocky Mountain radar, at least they pay for your ticket if you get one.

We've had this radar for a few years now and it is still a great radar however with the addition of new cars using K band for the lane switching sensors it goes off on the highway ALL the time

This unit is excellent for highway travel as most highway patrol use KA radar and keep it running so they are easy to spot with the x50... i turn off x band as it is pretty much not used by law enforcement cruisers

In my area, K band isn't used and X band isn't used in most places, so I turned those bands off and the radar is extremely quiet with very few false alarms

I personally believe Escort makes the best radar detectors out in the market right now

Either way, false positives aside, it does pick up on the "bad" radar and has a great range

Overall i would reccomend this product to anyone thats in the market for higher end radar detector that actually works compared to others

This is an excellent radar detector, after doing much research I purchased the passport

: I still think this is a perfectly good radar detector, but if i had it to do over again i would buy one that has GPS and false alarm lockout

This radar has a luck of detection on K and Ka bands,almost the most important ones

I bought this after I bought the GX65 which was either defective or had terrible radar capabilities (was only good for GPS warnings).
