Then I know it's time for a change so the protector doesn't break off and expose my screen

My phone fell a few times but it feels good seeing the screen cracked instead of my phone

Completely shattered the first time it was hit and the second one shattered when I set it on my counter 30 mins after I put it on

These should protect the screens from scratches- time will tell!

While the false advertising is disappointing and I'd love to return it for something more specific (but $9 really isn't worth the damn time), it's a good quality screen protector and I'll hang onto it for now (at least until a more specific, comparable alternative arrives).EDIT
