First, I love the "pure" android experience

Running as pure Android as you will find (Pixel isn't pure AOSP Android anymore like Nexus was), everything is generally smooth and fast

What a disappointment, this is the worst Android phone I have ever owned

I purchased this phone as a replacement for my Nexus 6; while I really liked the Nexus 6 and the "pure" Android experience, it was long in the tooth and due for an upgrade.

The Essential Phone has premium build quality, a great display, takes pretty good pictures, runs pure Android without a scrap of bloat and receives regular updates (at least so far).

Fingerprint sensor, and face recognition also work well, as do other Android features, like Android Ambient display

Pure Android, beautiful hardware, and great specs all at a fantastic price (on sale)

I love that is has a pure Android OS and open Bootloader makes this phone virtually limitless

The software is pure stock android and it has not once crashed, slowed down, hiccuped, or has done anything strange.

Although both phones will get Android 8, only the PH-1 will support Google's Project Treble which will allow for faster Android updates longer into the future

It seems that the battery life actually increased in this preview as well, it seems that Android's new "Adaptive battery" works wonders (I got over 8 hours of SOT a few days ago, with only 20 percent recharging in between, playing Ingress afterwards, which is a heavy battery drainer normally).Also, the general smoothness of the device got noticably better, the animations on P are really nice (even though I still hate the new Android design, lol)
