Essential Phone with Free Earphones - Black Moon

    • First time in years, I found myself to like to take the phone in hand
    • Goes from full bars to zero and making phone calls was very bad most times where the person on the other end had a hard time hearing me
    • The camera notch at the top didn't bother me 99% of the time, the only time it became annoying was on certain web pages with unique formatting where the whole page fit on one screen and it just cut off a word/link from a menu that I had a hard time selecting.
    • If I did not have this issue every time I plug it in, as other reviewers have said, it would be great.
    • (the phone is THICK compared to other flagship phones)Weight (the phone is quite hefty, and some of my magnetic phone mounts had a harder time holding the phone)The chin on the phone is very noticeable and annoying compared to other "bezel-less" phonesNo
    • Historically, I have found that the 2 or 3 month mark is the best time to look back at a phone and determine if the right phone was purchased.
    • 6/13/2018It's crashing 10 times a day again with many of the apps running unstable
    • The phone has not locked up or frozen one time since I bought it
    • Nexus had bit the dust a dozen times by now
    • Think of the Essential PH-1 as the new Sony PlayStation 5, rushed to the public with only 1 or two game titles, Pong being one of them; yes, it would disappointment, but given time to refine and update the release of new software and it will blow everything out of the water because the Hardware is "there"
    • This is definitely not a flagship-quality device; spend a little more for a pixel if you want a barebones approach to Android, don't waste your time if you want a nice phone - at least until Essential sorts out the bugs, if and when that happens.
    • Oh well, better luck next time.
    • Regardless, I don't like that they wasted my time with unnecessary trouble shooting steps rather
    • I feel like they are taking up more time to fix the issues on Android 8.1 and that's why this is 4 stars instead of three
    • Think of the Essential PH-1 as the new Sony PlayStation 5, rushed to the public with only 1 or two game titles, Pong being one of them; yes, it would disappointment, but given time to refine and update the release of new software and it will blow everything out of the water because the Hardware is "there"
    • I know there were some complaints at launch and it took some time to get it really up to par and up to speed, but holy crap this phone blows all the Samsung devices I've owned away.
    • In an era of "Break the Bank or Hate Your Phone", the Essential Phone arrives at a perfect time
    • The first time I had an issue with the charging cord and one arrived at my door a day or two later
    • This time, it froze for two hours, then died and will not turn back on or hard reset
    • Oh well, better luck next time.
    • I have a hard time believing that a camera on a 2017 flagship can actually be this bad
    • I bought this phone in summer and it has already been dead on me 3 times
    • Essential has lost my business big time and will never recommend to anyone again
    • so I see improvements all the time.
    • The camera notch at the top didn't bother me 99% of the time, the only time it became annoying was on certain web pages with unique formatting where the whole page fit on one screen and it just cut off a word/link from a menu that I had a hard time selecting.
    • It did freeze on me one other time but never
    • so you have enough time to line up your video and then press record
    • The fingerprint sensor works every time, perfectly, and very quickly
    • First time i have ever broken a screen, and it was on a phone i figured could handle a little roughness
    • but you would have a hard time recognizing that at first
    • I liked the phone initially but it froze up several times (even after updates).
    • Had phones issues that were minor but now phone drops connection all the time-even when I don't move and when I went to exchange the phone under warranty where I still pay $200
    • it needed some old stuff deleted so it froze a couple times).
    • I say the app because it cannot be the camera, due to the promised updates that have made the phone on par with other flagships, it has truly been a pleasure to see the updates as Essential roles them out, every time I am shocked at the amount of improvement
    • Processing is fast, no noticeable wait time
    • but I've not had enough time to test that
    • If you forget and then re-pair every device every time, that seems to help, but who has the time for that?-Serious lack of options for protection
    • So those are some really good charge times and overall battery
    • I waste my time retaking the photo
    • I work part-time for Uber and Lyft and have a terrible time now
    • I did a couple weeks of reading and research on it as well as the OnePlus 5t and thought what the heck I'd give it a shot
    • n’t have signal in most of house and I missed a lot of phone calls, but the phone is great build and overall a great product except if you have low signal in your house it will compromise your call quality up to having missed calls
    • I still recommend the One Plus 5T over this if you have the extra money or have a CDMA carrier
    • 3T has a mediocre camera and it blows this phone away
    • Arguably the 5T is better than the Essential, stats-wise, but the elegant design and stock Android won out in the end.
    • I really liked this phone its worked great for 2 weeks now the screen doesn't turn on
    • I didn't like the small body, though, as I like the way my Nexus fits in my hands
    • On the positive I adore how simple this phone is
