I hate the power blocks most devices come with today as they obscure nearby outlets and these are the only option around the problem.

I bought these because I have a house full of gadgets, phones, tablets, toys, so many other things that need to be charged and got tired of all the odd block shaped chargers blocking more than one outlet slot
