They keep my outlets from being blocked by the stupid wall warts from my USB hub and USB hard drive, and I can tuck them out of sight as well.

I run 6 external hard drives on my system that took up 2 power strips. using the power extension cords i was able to cut that down to a single power strip and untangle some wiring under the desk.
