From the start, this external drive made unusual noises.

If you ever have experience with the drive easy to enter hybernation mode (spin down) just use a free app called NoSleepHD (very self explanatory and this app does not install anything on your computer) which would write a text file onto your external HD at specified time increment in order to keep it in constant spinning mode.- UPDATE AS OF 9/18/2013The hot swap issue disappeared after few Windows Updates
