USB DAC mode works fine, though the USB and 3.5mm jacks are close enough together that headphones with larger plugs (like the DT770) will not fit when USB is inserted

For relatively sensitive IEMs like mine, the difference between one volume level and another can be too quiet vs ear piercing

Plenty of power for the 80 ohm DT770, low enough noise floor for sensitive IEMs

Supports a ton of codecs, to the point that my S8 can't keep up and ends up pausing to catch up, not sure if this is a Bluetooth issue or the fact that my library is in AIFF and is being converted on the fly

There is enough power for basic in-ear headphones, but using it with even basic Sony MDR-V6 and it is immediately apparent how underpowered it is.

Overall, hats-off the Fiio for creating a very impressive device at an extremely affordable price

It can even drive my hifiman headphone at decent volume, though I am sure the battery life will take a hit.

That's why I needed the soundassistant app, to get more precise volume

Plus, it isn't affected by that stupid "absolute volume" feature which ties the volume of the source device to the bluetooth audio device, so you aren't sacrificing any volume precision in your source device
