    Final Fantasy VII

    • Overall there is so much more to this game than just a cool magic system and playable characters, there is also a great story and solid side quests in this game that can keep people playing
    • The Materia system is probably the best magic system I've ever seen in a FF game, although FFX's thing with the orbs on the little map is also an excellent version
    • Cons (there are few):-Sometimes a bit tedious-Battle system is a bit flawed.-Terrible
    • The game had an easy system for equiping magic (thanks to mataria) and weapons
    • I like the strategy system in play, though some felt it to be somewhat overly complicated
    • The reason they buy them is for a great story, great characters, and great battle systems
    • There's also a great battle system, a multitude of vechiles at your disposal, an excellent soundtrack, and plenty of other goodies
    • " everyone cares about how good a game looks and they buy it based on that... most of these high budget flashy games are major disappointments (excuse the spelling :-p) but FF7 has the BEST gameplay magic system and storyline EVER written period.
    • you generally end up caring for ALL of them, hell, even the bad guysFighting system- while i think FF6 has the best combat
    • On top of that, many of the elements within the game are still great and have aged gracefully in time- the great battle system, intriguing story (although imho it had a few too many twists toward the end), collecting "materia" (essentially a crystal-like material that adds abilities and power to weapons, armor, and your character, and allows you to summon creatures; also, it levels up the more you use it and your spells/abilities gain power), the dystopian-style setting, quirky characters, and the overall "sci-fi meets fantasy" feel
    • the materia system is the best magic system ever created
    • For starters, every FF game had a well balanced battle system that was unique and its own, and VII is no exception
    • , there was a real worry that Squaresoft (as Square-Enix was called back then) really had abandoned Final Fantasy games in favor of simple graphic demos on completely unknown systems like the N64
    • As for the actual gameplay, FF7 has a convenient system that gives each character their own unique, distinguishable ability while at the same time alowing you to customize their other abilities through the use of Materia.
    • This case is true for Final Fantasy VII while it's graphics are outclassed by VIII I would argue that the former is superior because of a better, more in depth story, better music, different style (I love the dark corporate armaggeddon portrayed in VII) and better magic/battle system.
    • The materia system is an incredibly fun magic system to use and the fighting is creative
    • Other than that, revolutionary for psone graphics, fun materia system, and cloud's huge sword is awesome
    • The battle system is pretty easy and the equipment and command systems aren't hard to get either.
    • It has a great battle system as well.
    • Good characters and plot mixed with a great new battle system with arch-enemies like this World has never before seen make this a game which will stand the test of time.
    • Overall, I would highly recommend this title to advanced and beginners alike, as this game has a straightforward level up system with a neat addition of the character peripheral I have mentioned above
    • But the "old-school" look of this game is drowned out by the convenient battle system and the cleverly made gameplay, which made the game complex and challenging but exhilirating once you grasped the concept of "materia"
    • While they are all classics in there own right, there is simply no game out there that combines a truly epic story, an innovative magic system, fun and engaging side quests, an unbelievable soundtrack, and characters that you care about so well.
    • I enjoyed the materia system immensely
    • The magic system, based on "materia", is new and just complicated enough to provide some strategic depth without overwhelming new players.
    • I honestly think it has the best battle system in the series with the exception of FF12.
    • It features an excellent storyline, an excellent battle system, AWESOME MUSIC (people by the soundtrack
    • The characters, the magic system, the beautiful pre rendered steam/cyber punk world, the Story/lore, the mini games and sidequests, and the replayability are all on God Level
    • Even up against FF8, FF9, and FFX, FF7 really holds its own with great characters, my favorite being Yuffie, great story, and a truly fun gameplay system
    • classic storyline, good music, sweet battle system.
    • Everything is so well integrated, from the battle engine to the magic system to special abilities, this games demands your full and undivided attention.
    • This game has it all: the best combat system ever conceived by mortal (or immortal :p) minds, an intricate and interesting storyline, and characters that make other games seem shallow
    • The hard system was Nintendo Family computer these days
    • I love the story, I love the battle system, I love the pacing, I love the nostalgic feelings I get when I replay it
    • FF7 specializes in an awsome battle system using Materia: magical "stones" with various abilities for attcks
    • FFVIIBest Magic System
    • and you'll love the materia system , the music, and you'll get used to the not-so-great 32-bit graphics.
    • Great graphics, new magic system, great characters, and a hell of a plot
    • The magic system is balanced with strong physical attacks.
    • Concletely the soft system changed from casette to CDROM
    • The Sony PlayStation had a superior sound chip system in comparison to the Super NES, yet the sound quality of games like Chrono Trigger and Final Fantasy 3 (er, 6!) blasted you with superb sound quality.
    • The materia magic system is also a great system in that you can only have as many pieces of materia (magic giving items) equipped to your weapon and armor as you have slots on said weapons and armor
    • With an easy to master battle system and some challenging battles, this game is perfect for beginners and expert gamers.
    • When I first played this game I thought that this was the best fighting system out there
    • The characters are dynamic and well done, the combat system is well thought out, and the magic system is much better than that of FFVIII.
    • I love the materia system-it allows for some good customization, which I enjoyed.
    • Unfortunately VIII is bogged down by the hideous battle system that tends to distract one from the story.
    • it has one of the most innovative battle systems I have ever played (next to ffX)
    • I had a problem with the whole materia use, i prefer the junction system of ff8
    • it has the best battling system Iv'e seen
    • This is in my opinion, the best magic system that squaresoft ever came up with.
    • The Magic system in FFVII is Materia.
    • I love the battle system in this game
    • Man..bad graphics, horrible gameplay, sucky battle system, hard to understand, VERY difficult to get into it, too confusing, dumbxxx characters like cloud, hes the worst.(except sephiroth), sometimes too long of cutscenes, boring cutscenes, you can barely see their eyes & mouth, etc. etc
    • It's not a bad system, but considering the game is 60 hours long, you might master it before then and get bored
    • It also has an interesting story and a really good system for dividing magic and abilities among your characters.
    • It beats the lame junction system (FF8), the simplified ability system (ff9), and the even more confusing grid system (ffx)
    • The magic system was not well planned
    • The gameplay, too, is superb, with an easy menu system and full in-game tutorials being accessible at pretty much any point in the game
    • Graphics are a little old school compaired to modern systems, but they are not bad
    • From the great music to the excellent battle system to the plot with a depth rarely seen in video games to the wonderful graphics
    • It has all the things a good RPg should have- a good story, a good battle system, and most importantly for me good characters
    • You can play in the arcade like 50 diff games, chocobo race you breed and make different chocobos with different abilities, it uses the mattera system the best system in the world.
    • It was a style used extensively on the PS1 and still used in other games today (especially on the portable systems).
    • Ok, maybe some people don't like the materia system, but they must admit the story more than makes up for it (I'm not saying I don't like it!)
    • The badest villians, the coolest characters, manageable battle system.
    • This game also has it all, a great cast of characters, an addicting, deep and rewarding battle system, a fantastic soundtrack by the legendary Nobuo Uematsu, hidden characters and quests galore, one of, if not the most moving cinematics in gaming history, if you are willing over three hundred hours of gameplay if you want to build all of your characters' stats to the max 255, and an epic plot to save the world from an evil planet destroying corporation and the best villain of all time, Sephiroth
    • It's not a bad system, but considering the game is 60 hours long, you might master it before then and get bored
    • It beats the lame junction system (FF8), the simplified ability system (ff9), and the even more confusing grid system (ffx)
    • Well from Final Fantasy series the only games that I have play are FFIV, FFVI, FFVII and FFVIII, I liked the materia system wich allow to customize how you use magic, but the story was a little cliche, an evil corporation(Shinra) who are sucking energy from the planet, and the good guys here want to stop them
    • Final Fantasy VII is no different, with the perfect amount of Playstation flair to compliment, not overtake the strong story and game system that are the series' hallmarks
    • It is one of my favorite RPG`s of all time
    • It is one of my favorite RPG`s of all time
    • I don't particularly care--he was supposed to be Mr. T, and he turned out well in that regard, but if you intend to read some kind of general statement on the merit of people of a particular shade, you may as well just let this one pass by
