Absolutely avoid purchasing until Fitbit pulls their collective heads out of their fourth point of contact and fixes their syncing issues.

I was using an Essential phone and recently upgraded to a Pixel 3 XL and the sync issues are almost completely gone.

Do your research and you will see all kinds of posts about syncing issues and the hassle it is to install the firmware updates; took my Ionic four tries over 3 days to finally install and the device has synced only twice in the week that I have had it.
