This has a spruce top which gives it a nice sound, We replaced the strings with better ones and got an inexpensive tuner for it along with an assortment of pics and a strap and bag and this made for one happy daughter.

We replaced the strings with higher-end strings which gave the guitar a better sound and alleviated any concerns we had with other strings breaking prematurely, so if I were to give any advice it would be to replace the strings with a well known high-end brand when you get this
