I had the Scarlett solo before but upgraded to this as I needed two mic inputs for acoustic recordings along with singing, both are really nice and good quality builds with good interfaces

The 48v phantom over USB somehow works just as good as adding in an external phantom supply thus eliminating the need for another box (even with a laptop)I have not yet tested the instrument or headphone inputs but for the mic input it's excellent quality with minor software enhancements from a room with minimum ambient noise and no room enhancements (just a regular living environment)I have nothing but good things to say at this point and am happy to have not listened to the negative reviews.

The best course of action is to make sure that your equipment is A) grounded, B) securely outfitted with surge protection, helps as a first defense against ground loop when using utilizing a quality product, C) invest in the iFi Purifier 2, this not only helps by correcting any major frequency imbalances by offsetting them with the necessary frequency to cancel the effects altogether, but also improves the quality of your sound simultaneously.

Now keep in mind that every audio interface has its own sound but this guy is incredible and way too nice quality for its price
