I didn't think I would use it but the Foscam cloud storage is very convenient

If you are thinking of using Foscam Cloud, or one of their apps... think again.

I am also marking off a star because once I leave my home, I cannot log onto the camera or reconnect with it unless I go to the Foscam cloud service through a web browser.

Obviously, this is not a technical limitation as the Foscam cloud happily records audio

The only reason for the four-star rating is that the foscam cloud service needs a plugin which is not compatible with the newest version of firefox (or, linux, which is a drag) so it's not accessible

It has motion and sound detection, and It can be recorded with foscam cloud with security system

They also offer 2 months free for Foscam cloud also with 7 days history.

As I have mentioned, you can make "SOME" changes via the Foscam Cloud web page, and many of the same changes can be made from the smart phone app, but the vast majority of configuration needs to happen as described above

These R2 cameras are significantly better from a performance perspective and sync with the Foscam cloud

I suspect the R2 was trying to contact Foscam Cloud Services and failing

I like the concept of the Foscam Cloud but it has a long way to go to be useful for me

Setting up the plug-in was confusing in my opinion and that led to confusion as to why I couldn't see the "Playback" tab on Firefox.

We bought the foscam a week ago, it arrived promptly and worked exactly as we expected
