Pros:- Fast autofocus-
-
An absolutely superb lens, razor sharp, super fast autofocus, very light and compact
-
Excellent sharpness, fast autofocus, nice bokeh
-
I also own a handful of Fujifilm lenses, including the 18-55mm, 23mm, 35mm f/1.4 and f/2, and 56mm (non-APD version).I purchased this lens primarily to take advantage of the faster autofocus speeds offered by the X-Pro2 in conjunction with certain lenses (there are only about five lenses that have this capability as of the writing of this review; it's explained very nicely on Fujifilm's web site)
-
I appreciate the lens's small size (it's not a pancake, but it's still smaller than most other Fujinon lenses), solid build (the aperture ring has much better haptics than my other Fujinon lenses), and quiet, confident autofocus (very little hunting)
-
The autofocus is blistering fast on my XT1, its size and weight are close to nothing, this thing is a monster in the rain, and I'm in love with the images I've taken with them
-
It's compact and lightweight, has a durable metal construction, it'sweather sealed, sharp as a tac with creamy bokeh at f/2, silent, fast, and accurate autofocus, and is half the cost of its f/1.4 cousin that lacks in almost everything I just mentioned
-
The autofocus is basically silent and the lens is very solid
-
With the latest firmware on the X-T1, autofocus is really snappy, and even though there's still a tiny bit of noise coming from the lens when it focuses, the only application where that would bother anyone is during shooting video in continuous focus mode.
-
The lens is a great size for traveling and the fast autofocus is reliable
-
Extremely sharp with quiet and FAST autofocus
-
Autofocus has improved dramatically as it's very quick and smooth
-
I can say my initial thoughts are, the autofocus is FAST.
-
Not quite as sharp as the original XF35mm F1.4, but faster and more compact.
-
The overall focus performance as fast as you can reasonably expect for a lens in this era, and leaves the old 1.4 in the dust
-
Stopping down seems to help, but it is nowhere near as sharp as the 35mm f/1.4

-
I sent it back a week later because I couldn't make snaps as sharp as I had with the 1.4
-
I love my X100T as well - this gives me a two camera solution for 35mm and 50mm street photography.
-
However, I don't think the image quality is quite as good as the f/1.4 version (perhaps less microcontrast?), and I was hoping the focus would be a bit quicker than it is

I have played with my friend's 35mm f/1.4 and there is no doubt that it is an amazing lens, but this f/2 version blows it out of the water in terms of focus speed and almost no audible noise
