The only real advantage I see so far is faster focus acquisition

: the size is small, it's lightweight, the aperture ring has just the right amount of friction, and the focusing is buttery smooth

The focus is indeed faster than the older 35mm f1.4 on an x-t1.

The aperature and focus ring are much more satisfying to use over the 18-135, but i still dislike manually focusing in video.

Quiet, sure focusing, light, and unobtrusive.

The only difference between this mode and CF mode is when you half press the shutter button it will beep when focus is confirmed as opposed to CF mode that there is no beeping

I don't like motorized manual focus, and I hate the lack of a depth of field scale on a prime lens of this quality.

I have played with my friend's 35mm f/1.4 and there is no doubt that it is an amazing lens, but this f/2 version blows it out of the water in terms of focus speed and almost no audible noise
