Fujitsu ScanSnap S1500 Instant PDF Sheet-Fed Scanner for PC

    • But if you really want to do a full colour very fine resolution scan it will slow down a bit and give beautiful results
    • I was a bit anxious about spending so much money on a scanner, but the investment definitely paid off
    • I contacted the Fujitsu customer support, (very nice, prompt response) they instructed to reinstall the ABBYY software, it improved a little bit, but still picks a lot of garbage and is basically useless.
    • This might be a bit much for the ordinary user, but I confess that as a software developer I was mightily impressed
    • The Acrobat software is terrible, but it is a little better than the Acrobat Standard 8 that comes bundled with the S500.Overall, I do think they improved a bit on the S500, but not enough where anyone needs to replace their S500 with the S1500.
    • FlexibleConsistent outputA tiny bit pricey, but makes the tedious task of scanning effortless
    • A bit pricey, but it also does a lot for the price, so its worth it

    • 64 bit - WIN
    • Okay, now that's the superficial bit
    • A bit pricy, but worth it, and you also get Acrobat.
    • I was a bit hesitant to buy because of lack of good information/support on Windows 7
    • This seemed better, but the naming and filing was still a bit tedious (but unavoidable).
    • The software is a bit awkward to use for some tasks, though I haven't bothered to read up on how to use the ScanSnap software nor the Adobe Acrobat software.
    • Every scanned document gave me the same error, "64 bit OS not compatible with device"

    • Surprisingly, as long as you get all the staples out, do only a few pages at a time (as the envelopes, which have been ripped open, seem to confuse it a bit), they whiz through the ADF
    • This machine scans circles around my old Brother machine (I now use a cheap B&W printer for my printing needs). My only two quibbles about the scanner are the lack of a flat bed (for smaller documents, receipts, etc) and the cost, but if you can afford it, get this scanner!
    • It does a wonderful t job of just being simple and functional
