This is a great deal and it was a really great first bass
I bought this starter set for my 5th grader, and while the guitar itself is not a bad deal/quality for a starter base guitar at this price...it is definitely not of high quality.
It's great, has nice weight, it's full size and a nice thick sound.
It plays very well, has a great sound and feel and all the extra stuff is perfect
It has good sound, nice look, and comes with everything you need to get started
The only issue with the equipment is a low humming sound that emits from the amp when it's turned on.
...if you wanna get a dirty, rumbling, Geezer Butler ish sound...crank up the bass knob on the amp and turn the treble down to 1, and turn the tone knob on the guitar down almost all the way
I plugged into the little amp that came with it and there was a very loud buzz
If you are having trouble with fret buzz, get the guitar set up by someone who knows what they are doing
Yes, there is a little bit of fret buzz but no one should be buying a guitar like this expecting to use it in a performance
The amp is "ok," as it does buzz quite a bit (it is a pretty faint buzzing when low volume but gets super loud when you turn up the volume) but that doesn't interfere with the sound when you are playing it, it is just kind of annoying

The cord that goes from amp to bass was severed coming out of the box.
If it was on the front and not the bottom i wouldn't end up hitting the cord with my leg which i am afraid will eventually damage the cord and the jack
The bag started ripping apart at the seams, and the cord has created a little buzz/hum noise for the stage I've played on.
