Upon further investigation the pin was broken

When inserting, I made sure to do it very slowly, so as not to bend/break the pins inside of the sd2vita

This bent pin ended up scratching a groove in my memory card, but thankfully, it seems to be cosmetic

I should note that I did not try to force my card in, the reason it wouldn't go in in the first place was that these pins were warped and bent and not sitting in their grooves.

Turns out that the pins were quite dirty (or at least too dirty for my ps vita to recognize it)

Found out the pins were messed up, and it wasn't reading properly

When you insert the sd card, be gentle, since the pins inside the sd2vita are very fragile, and are prone to bending/breaking
