Anyway,pounding the plastic piece into the rough cut hole on the underside of the top particle board shelf proved impossible.

Contrary to the product page's claim that no tools are required, assembly does require the use of a rubber mallet for securing four plastic anchors that join the top shelf with its four legs

But if it has two feet.. the top shelf on the stand is not wide enough.

If you are ordering this for your tv, make sure that the feet/pedestal of the tv will fit on the top shelf

We are going to use it as a TV stand, and may even be able to put a small microwave on the lower shelf, though that shelf is only supposed to support 15 pounds

This worked out perfectly, it is easy to put together and has enough shelf space to hold my 3d bluray player, 3d glasses, surround sound receiver, cable modem and fire tv.

Very good quality stronger than expected and very pretty a must have for just that special look can be used as a tv stand or just as a very pretty shelf to hold your treasures easy to assemble and the light wood looks really pretty as well.

I will mention though that the middle shelf by itself isnt capable of supporting the weight of an integrated amplifier, so I took a couple of pieces of 3/4 inch PVC pipe, cut them to length and use them as extra legs under that shelf
