The protection is more against scratches and minor bumps...probably won't protect the phone from a serions fsll, but anything thicker would make the phone too big to go in a pocket comfortably.

When the case came in I was amazed at the new sleek design

The Spigen Tough Armor Case has a larger opening but I didn't like that design

Slim and simple design, I really appreciate the reinforced corners and raised edge as well as the camera bezel

This case provides easy access to the charge-port cover, where other cases I've looked at partially obscure the little divot designed to help you open it.

I have dropped the phone on a hard surface and phone is ok, not a scratch (not even on the case)

So if you're wanting a case that will protect your phone from the occasional drops then this is the case for you.

I drop the phone all the time and the phone has never been damaged at all, due to this very fine case

Don't buy this case it will not protect your phone from a soft accidental drop like it is supposed to.

If you are ok with a subpar fit, then this will work for you, but I would recommend the Samsung Protective Cover for Galaxy S5, clear.

S5.This is a great protective cover that provides great protection but is not large and bulky

Look is high end, you don't get the feeling that this is a cheap cover.

One time with a hit right on the corner on concrete, the protective glass front cover developed a crack, and I'm quite sure that would not have happened with this case on the phone

All the ports are just as accessible as without the case.. it adds a ever so slight weight

The TPS seems a little better than hard plastic and slides in and out of my pocket easily.

The material is a flexible, yet decently firm - it feels like a hybrid material somewhere between hard plastic and rubber

If it offers the same protection as a hard plastic OtterBox remains to be seen

It's not heavy duty like my last otterbox, so I will still need to be a little more careful with this one, and it doesn not include a screen protector (fine with me, I like to add my own stick on protectors), but the material is excellent rubbery surface plastic that feels good in your hand, looks sharp, and doesn't collect fingerprints
