When another vehicle decides to change lanes and ends up in front of you, it alerts of a collision warning even though it was done at a safe distance.

What one considers "too close for comfort" another would be quite comfortable, albeit not a safe distance.

So the safe distance is subjective matter.

My husband finally hooked this up today, so I can say it works as it is suppose to.
