    Garmin fenix 2 GPS Watch

    • I’m sure the ‘easy button’ for Garmin would be to shift blame to TrainingPeaks, but since it seems clear the data is corrupt from the beginning, let’s keep our focus there.- Run data shows elevation gain/loss of
    • From random crashes to freezing screens to false/incorrect data, I've experienced it all with the Fenix 2
    • Several other triathlons have resulted in no recorded running dataIn addition to this, when syncing the data with Garmin Connect, it basically scrambles the data
    • It repeatedly crashes on me mid-run and shuts the watch off, thereby losing data and interrupting my pace/focus.
    • This wouldn’t concern me so much except that it corrupted the data.
    • Worse yet I was forced to reboot and again lost a great runs data.
    • Run dynamics data is great if you are trying to improve your technique
    • There are forums, even on Garmin, that indicate many other people are having this problem (most seem to have problems losing HR while using the watch for running). The worst was when it corrupted my data during an Ironman 70.3 race in June 2014.
    • Prior glitches with recording the data and connecting to a temp sensor (extra $$) before i read about.
    • It eliminated one of the main data points most athletes pay attention to and therefore led to unreliable data for analyzing the workout.
    • The bad: Bluetooth connectivity is unusable (iOS 71. and 9.3), bluetooth and ant+ can't be used at the same time, screen resolution makes map display unintelligable, doesn't do indoor fitness activities well (collects data like "ascent" that makes no sense on a rowing maching, for example). The really bad: the Basecamp and Connect websites are hard to use, not terribly helpful for data analysis and syncing even through a cable (using Garmin Express) is flakey and unpredictable
    • But other than that, you get good, gimmick-free data.
    • If the data is not correct, the watch is no use to me.
    • With the Suunto device you can only transfer data to and from Suunto's Movescount.com web site, and it's severely limited when it comes to uploading and downloading data from there to your PC
    • I lost all my data, so I will NOT be able to see how I did throughout the route
    • I then find that I can recreate the data loss issue and contact Garmin.
    • Another con, I would swim in the lake with other people, those using the Garmin Forerunner 920 always received better data once they uploaded their data
    • Worse yet I was forced to reboot and again lost a great runs data.
    • The unit will occasionally corrupt your data if you use it longer than 4 hrs straight, and Garmin feels they deserve 400 dollars for it
    • Wow, so much data during my jogs to digest it becomes a buffet of information and stats.
    • I’m sure the ‘easy button’ for Garmin would be to shift blame to TrainingPeaks, but since it seems clear the data is corrupt from the beginning, let’s keep our focus there.- Run data shows elevation gain/loss of
    • I get corrupt data files from crashes during work outs about once ever month, and about once every 2-3 months I have to do a hard reset where I have to reset the watch to factory default to get it to work.
    • My data was very chunky, my recorded swim path was a collection of points disbursed along my swim direction
    • I would not really recommend this watch to everyone, just to the people who do not care for looks and solely hard, cold functionality and data.
    • I bought this back in August of 2015, and at least 90 % of my runs since that time have inaccurate data because the watch fails to lock on to a satellite until I'm 1/2 - 3/4 mile into the run.
    • After a few beginner's hiccups learning the syncing process, I've had very little trouble uploading my data.
    • Looking at the TCX file, the date jumped by 4 years making the data complete junk.
    • Device IssuesSemi-regularly, the watch will freeze while I'm out on a run, losing all data for that workout and requiring a hard reset
    • And random problems abound as
