I bought this hoping it would work as well and was pleasantly surprised how fast and easy this works, better than the Dual
This Garmin GLO for aviation works very well in the higher altitudes through heated windows
I found that the CoPilot GPS app for Apple iOS (free with basic functionality, but you can pay for additional features) works pretty well, and you can download maps of a region of your choice (i.e. US and Canada, a 1.5GB download), so you need not have an internet connection to use the GPS

Compact, good battery life, turns on quickly, rings in GPS satellites quickly, GLONASS satellites a plus, pairs quickly with ipad, fast updates, uses a standard USB cable
Through it in a bag/backpack and don't worry about it turning on and draining the battery (which has great life by the way).
Very good battery life

this unit works seamlessly...easy to use and design to last long on each charge
The unit worked well with both the Garmin Pilot and Jeppesen applications
Overall, this is a good unit; I would have given it 5 stars if it came with included navigation / utility software
The GLO is a small, long-lasting, accurate unit with fast updates and great coverage, but it lacks one simple item I think is very important: A battery level indicator in either hardware or software.

Physical design is poor with unprotected switches that turn on inadvertently while in storage
It WILL turn on and kill the battery if you put it in a flight bag, or pocket, or pretty much anywhere else unless you have a very specifically designed hard case that prevents any movement or pressure against that outside edge.

More about Garmin GLO for Aviation
Fly with the portable device of your choice and Garmin-caliber GPS data at the same time
GLO for Aviation brings you the best of both worlds by combining GPS/GLONASS receivers with Bluetooth® technology so you can get precise position information on your iPad, iPhone or Android device.
GLO for Aviation can receive position information from both the GPS and GLONASS satellite constellations, allowing it to connect to up to 24 more satellites than devices that rely on GPS alone
This allows GLO to lock on to satellites approximately 20% faster and keep up with even the most demanding jet speeds
What’s more, GLO updates its position information 10x per second – up to 10x more often than the GPS receivers in many mobile devices
When you access geo-referenced charts, Garmin SafeTaxi or the moving map display in Garmin Pilot (6 months of which come free with your GLO purchase), you’ll know that what you see is the most precise picture possible.
Using Bluetooth® technology, GLO for Aviation wirelessly pairs to your mobile device
Just use the included mount to set GLO on your glare screen and within moments, you’ll be receiving GLO’s position data
The device features up to 12 hours of battery life to keep your position on even the longest of flights, and charging GLO between uses is a cinch with the included USB cable or 12/24 Volt cigarette lighter adapter.
