Garmin nüvi 2797LMT 7-Inch Portable Bluetooth Vehicle GPS with Lifetime Maps and Traffic (Discontinued by Manufacturer)

    • It then gave us a delay warning and said to stay on course (it was still the shortest route)Pretty darn cool!Definitely happy that I bought a warranty with accident protection (squaretrade.com) as the suction cup failed and the unit fell to the center console
    • It will send you off an interstate even if interstate is fastest and shortest route.
    • It is very frustrating to not be able to plot routes without starting it after leaving my area first
    • It insists on out-of-the-way routes, while short, direct routes are available but not used
    • For the most part the routing is correct for me
    • I found the Garmin did excellent inside the city, but cross country it will direct you on the shortest but not always the best route.
    • Works great wish it gave more option for routes based on traffic and used back roads as an option for faster routes
    • It took me awhile to convince the unit to change cities, but once I did, there were no further issues regarding route planning
    • One thing that is a little frustrating is that it doesn't always pick the best route
    • apparently that's not the fastest route
    • It does not give you the most accurate route to a destination.
    • Seems to be a dandy unit but like all navigation units that I have used (except for one) it does not take the best route all the time but it will get you where you need to go
    • The Bad:- big size is offset but a really cluttered screen which reduces the actual visible map- really heavy, doesn't want to stick to windshield- really slow, the map cannot refresh fast enough to keep up with tricky routes, especially when exiting routes and entering ramps to other roads, cloverleafs, etc.- screen display is fuzzy, my old Garmin was really sharp, like a cell phone, this 2797's resolution is very
    • and it has even shown me better routes than my Qualcomm on more than a few occasions
    • The only time I have got lost since I began using this system is when I thought new where I was going and ignored the directions ended up lost as the route I normally took was under construction requiring rerouting back to where the GPS had told me to go in the first place.
    • Wish it gave more efficient routes.
    • this is a good guide, but you better know the fastest route on your own
    • BEST ROUTES are not always the best routes based on other GPS on my other Phone.
    • The 2797 does show optional routes and allow the user to choose the preferred route.
    • In other words, I wanted a gps that "tells me" the most efficient routing when I am looking a "for example" 25 houses in a city or town.
    • In testing, we found that the unit set at the fastest route sometimes takes you into a lot of slow city traffic when other faster routes are available.
    • the routes it gives you are horrendous,
    • It wakes up quickly, finds satellites quickly, and plots your route really fast.
    • It took me awhile to convince the unit to change cities, but once I did, there were no further issues regarding route planning
    • Still can't figure out how to set up a custom route using the scenic route, need to go on more road trips.
    • With this unit I can program all the stops into a trip planning section and it will calculate the most efficient route to go from the 1st one to the last one
    • Decent routing so far
    • Beware, the routes that the software suggests can be awful and waste time!
    • I have programed it for the fastest route
    • When it was working, it would take me the longest routes possible, I had it set properly to fastest route, on the way home from the 700+ mile road
    • Garmin's data base is far superior to other brands and nearly always gives the best route and recalculates quickly if you change.
    • Maps out decent routes
    • Excellent GPS with excellent tragic alerts, alternate routes, graphics and apps
    • for the most part that's the fastest route.
    • Like it, does what I want though doesn't always give the fastest or best routes..even after resetting to default settings.
    • There is no way to change route mid route like other gps devices.
    • Works about every Garmin I've had (4), usually accurate, does make errors, and sometimes sets out weird routes.
    • Excellent GPS with excellent tragic alerts, alternate routes, graphics and apps
    • Very nice unit, powers up fast, computes route fast, easy to see.
    • Gone are the times of recalculating the route; if you make an error in seconds and silently it suggests another route and correct your course
    • T work
    • but it works surprisingly well with a beanbag mount...a 1490T on steroids.
