• Reviews around speed limit (1.42 of 5)

Garmin nüvi 2797LMT 7-Inch Portable Bluetooth Vehicle GPS with Lifetime Maps and Traffic (Discontinued by Manufacturer)

    • I would sure like the option of an audible alarm when the speed limit changes.
    • The large screen helps in seeing a lot of information at once such as lane assistance, speed limits, time to destination, current speed and of course your location and road map plus traffic warnings
    • Accurate, dependable, supplies all sorts of on screen info, restaurants, refueling, motels, current speed limit of road being traveled
    • The other thing is the speed limit posted in the lower left corner of the unit
    • It takes a ruler, goes between end points, and then finds the roads that are closest to that line, irrespective of the speed limits or road conditions over such a route
    • None of these streets that are covered in the maps are provided with speed limit information
    • It's easy to see and even displays the actual speed we were traveling, plus the speed limit, travel direction, & the estimated arrival time.
    • It tells you what the speed limit is in case you missed the sign while driving too.
    • How many times have you thought "what is the speed limit?"
    • .... the battery suck on this Nav but as far as directions, street names, traffic, speed limit and school zones warning its great with all this technology I think they can do better on the battery !!
    • Some of the speed limits are not accurate but most of them are and change within 2 seconds of passing the posted signs as they change
    • The current speed limit is shown when Garmin knows it, which is most of the time, and it is very handy.
    • The most critical part of this device - actual calculations of actual roads and actual speed limits - apparently does not exist in the Garmin processor
    • Speed limits missing or wrong - really a mapping software issue but even the latest maps have the issue4
    • It is accurate; keeps driver informed of the speed limit including school zones; intuitive, and great visuals
    • Even after updating, speed limits in construction areas are not always accurate
    • I like to display the current time, elevation, spped, speed limit, and direction of travel when not in active navigation mode
    • The only problem I had is that that the maps are not complete and the some of the speed limits were wrong
    • Driving through a suburb near my house the speed limit drops from 40 to 35 then 30 then 20 all within about one quarter of a mile
    • I travel on country roads quite a bit and the speed limit can change quickly going through small towns.
    • Thirdly, many of the rural roads we use are similarly not marked for speed limits
    • Even after updating, speed limits in construction areas are not always accurate
    • Provides the speed limit and your traveling speed, which is nice.
    • Down there you'll see the speed limit of the road you're on (most major roads, not minor or secondary roads) and right near it you'll see your speed
    • I would like to be able to customize what items appear on the screen other than the map (speed limit signs, time, speed, etc.
    • Furthermore, living in Texas, there is enormous road construction, especially on the highways, where the speed limits are constantly changing from 75, to 70 to 65 and down to 50, up and down, all the time and staying for a few months before changing again
    • The ability to identify local speed limits within Garmin and have these displayed as appropriate was extremely useful and elimination of this capability has no credible reasoning in my book.4
    • When you get onto a new road, it displays the speed limit--no more waiting until you can see a sign to make sure you're legal.
    • It's easy to see and even displays the actual speed we were traveling, plus the speed limit, travel direction, & the estimated arrival time.
    • I like how it spits the screen in two when you're approaching an exit and how it will tell you what the speed limit is for the road you are on
    • The tomtom have the alarm if you are above the speed limit
    • The only thing I can say that wasn't right was the speed limit in a couple places as I crossed into OH was actually posted higher than what the screen was saying
    • The speed limits are incorrect, sometimes higher, sometimes lower than actually posted
    • The other observation is just how accurate those speed limit signs are
    • This Garmin shows a "highlighted" route, a posted speed limit, how fast you are actually going, and your approximate arrival time.
    • I was amazed at how often the speed limit sign on the screen would change just as we were passing the road sign giving that same information
    • The new info goodies such as fuel stops, posted speed limits, congestion reports, restaurants, and other p.o.i. are truly useful additions with considerable and surprising detail.
    • What I like is the information shown on the screen such as speed limit, actual speed, lanes to be in for a transition, time or miles to destination, easily readable map, etc.
    • She said that the speed limit appearing on the screen was very handy in
    • Speed limits are much less comprehensive than on my older unit
    • I rely on it for all kinds of information like speed limits and arrival time and distance to next turn.
    • Many times I can't find the speed limit signs along the roadways
    • Speed limits are much less comprehensive than on my older unit
    • I really miss being able to set speed limits on specific streets and this used to be a considerable advantage
    • What I like is the information shown on the screen such as speed limit, actual speed, lanes to be in for a transition, time or miles to destination, easily readable map, etc.
    • Speed limits cannot be updated; with some other Garmin units you can manually update posted speed limits.
    • I also like that you can see the speed limit for the road you are on.
    • _ had evern worse declutter (and died after only a year of use), but I still prefer the M
    • The Garmin has a better display, nicer interface, better database, etc, and the M
    • T work
    • but it works surprisingly well with a beanbag mount...a 1490T on steroids.
