BUT - its always loosing the Bluetooth connection with my phone even when its right next to it.

The second device seemed to have a more stable Bluetooth connection, though not all data syncs for unknown reasons

I don't mean it's broken like when you walk away with your headset and lose the connection; with a normal Bluetooth device like a headset, once you step back into the phone's range you reconnect.
