Garmin vívoactive HR GPS Smart Watch, Regular fit - Black

    • Ordered and posted in reasonable time and arrived quickly, which is good since i am in Australia
    • For half the price of an Apple Watch, I was really looking forward to using the features, but if I have a hard time seeing the display in the middle of the day (and I have better than 20/20 vision), it's gotta go back
    • The first one died the very first time I took it surfing
    • 5 months later I find that overnight when not wearing it the watch time powers off and when I attempt to have the time show it has reset to the wrong time and date
    • First time I swam in it, it stopped working
    • but I ended up not enjoying my time with my
    • Only time heart rate is accurate is when you're sitting still
    • I lost my Fitbit Zip four times over the years and decided to go to Garmin for fitness and golf.
    • Ever since I started using this watch on the same desktop with BaseCamp for a handheld Garmin GPS, it started crashing every time.
    • Wore three times and the screen cracked with light tap.
    • Wait time was terrible, so I started a chat session
    • After about a week of wearing it I decided to charge it yesterday, once it was done charging I unplugged it and for some reason it reset to a completely wrong time, and worst of all it went back to October 8th.
    • I have called the help desk 4 times on this issue and while the Techs were absolutely wonderful, and resolved the issue each time, it just keeps happening, but I'm a pro at fixing it myself now, but it's annoying to have to go through constantly.
    • The watch randomly crashes and reboots, coming back up with the incorrect time, often being off by hours, and doesn't fix itself until it syncs again (sometimes several hours later).
    • So, if you are dependant on having your smartphone up and running during your work day (or during the night to wake you up in proper time for work), you cannot really have this app on your phone
    • Thus, 3 to 4 hours of active GPS tracking and the rest of the time passive
    • it is a shame , but after a year , the touch screen of the device it doenst work anymore , I thought that buying a garmin i would have a life long product but now ai have an expensive time visor
    • Unfortunately within three weeks that screen broke as well (this time in my wood
    • However, there seems to be a flaw in the software that gives the 500m split time
    • Finally, I have had a horrible time finding anything but silicone wristbands but needed to due to irritation and ended up having to make a custom paracord one
    • I still get access to Strava challenges, so i can try and beat my fastest times
    • I waited for hours outside and turned on GPS activities, but the watch would still show wrong time
    • I get compliments on it all the time
    • M-F 7am-7pm Central Time, closed holidays as we are unable to process payment information over e-mail
    • Has lost the sync several times at my place of work (hospital) and randomly changes the time and date (good side, got home an hour early one time)
    • The thing is just a piece of garbage, a $20 Timex ironman from Walmart can keep better time than this watch
    • It died the first time I wore it to swim laps.
    • Unfortunately within three weeks that screen broke as well (this time in my wood
    • It is the worst such product I have had to waste time on so far
    • stops working every time I play golf.
    • On the days it is bad, I want my money back plus all the time I've wasted getting it to work.
    • Easy hookup to Garmin software for updates and charging battery--- battery charge time reasonable
    • Eighteen months is not enough time for a product this expensive to last.
    • Sometimes it will show I burned 350 calories in one workout; and the next time I do the same workout it will show I burned fewer than 100 calories
    • Each time the watch wrist band would just fall apart.
    • its not great as some times it miss 1 or 2 laps out of 100 laps...but is good enough, it doesn't work good for open waters, I use it on running mode when I do open waters or with an app for swimming I found
    • My watch crashed one time and I lost all my settings that has to be reconfigured all over again.
    • I had this for a little over a month when it started shutting off sporadically, displaying the wrong time, and then failing to collect all data.
    • I don't know why watch works sometimes and not other times, glad I did not buy one of those 600 dollar models and have this problem
    • Every time my husband puts it on, the hour number does not reflect the correct time
    • Update: first time in pool and watch has stopped working
    • A friend of mine has this same watch and he had the freezing happen a few times as well
    • but now it lags big time.
    • I have considered by the foot pod to add to this to make it more accurate at counting my steps, except for one thing, the watch cannot keep accurate time either
    • The watch does not keep time well
    • in addition, the Vivoactive HR has on occasion switched off and rebooted (4 times now).... with the wrong time.... it has also ran out of space a number of times (especially if you do NOT set it to record in "SMART" mode and do not back-up to Garmin Connect often enough.
    • Then it started displaying the wrong date and time after charging.
    • And even though the time correctly displayed on my watch face, data that was sent to apple health all has incorrect time stamps (see attached photo) so now apple health thinks I go to bed around 2-3pm every day
    • Many other manufacturers have used other technologies (i.e. oled) that are much better and still achieve proper battery life time
    • I sometimes have a hard time fitting it under a dress shirt cuff.
    • Has lost the sync several times at my place of work (hospital) and randomly changes the time and date (good side, got home an hour early one time)
    • The GPS apps are especially good, for instance showing mph for biking and minutes per mile for running, as well as the distance and overall time.
    • My previous watch, a Forerunner 405, gave me reasonably reliable split times
    • Can I count on my morning alarm to go off at the right time?
    • Every time I do an update I lose any of the apps that I had downloaded.
    • Really like how it fit and functions, but it's not working correctly comes up with the wrong day/time, lost data, etc.
    • The only issue was the first time set up of the Bluetooth took a call to Garmin support.
    • I run 3-4 times a week and my old Forerunner 305 finally died
    • First time, it was fine
    • This watch will not keep correct time!
    • Time would not be accurate when it was not syncing
    • strokes, and time is exciting
    • Buttons work, but time is not correct
    • There really needs to be a simpler way of fixing this issue like allowing a person to manually change the time or let it sinc up with a world clock perhaps rather than to have to go through all the step you have to go through to get the right time and time
    • , the time is very easy to read, nice large bold digits.
    • It couldn't hold a charge for more than 2 days of no GPS use, would come out of a charge cycle and show the wrong time and date, and basically just turned into an expensive paperweight
    • as time passed features began to fail
    • Second time, it died
    • It works perfectly, keeps great time and monitors my health
    • I might have used dish soap one time, but have cleaned it with alcohol since
    • It has crashed 5 times since I have bought it and lord help you to find the reset instructions (took me about 10 minutes browsing forums since Garmin had nothing on it).3
    • It holds a charge a good long time and even though I could shower with it on, simply charging it every time I shower keeps it going quite easily
    • It has a hard time counting my steps when pushing a dolly with 400lbs of stuff on it,,,, I get no credit for working walking and working out real hard sometimes.
    • This thing is nearly worthless as every time I charge it on the computer, the time goes off 5 hours.
    • I've worn it swimming and in the shower everyday for over a year.*Garmin's app tracks a LOT of information (cadence, running route, sleep patterns, HR zones, fastest times, avg
    • My problems this time were intermittent.
    • It's so frustrated every time I checked notifications on the watch :(
    • The time stays wrong until the watches are synchronized with the phone
    • In practice, this works sometimes but other times you'll find your activity labeled without the location name; in those instances, you'll find there's no map to review either.
    • I would have to swipe multiple times
    • I'd look down at the watch and the time was wrong for no apparent reason
    • It also freezes up pretty much every time you load an update
    • Battery last a long time as well
    • So simply put, a device rated for 50 meters died the first time it was more than an arms length under water
    • I got pretty good at simply getting it to connect again, but each time the software has updated, I'm completely lost.
    • A huge time sink.
    • Worn every time I swam, snorkeled/fished in salt water, or worked elbow deep in mud, yard work, wood splitting, etc.
    • It is March 19th and the watch no longer keeps the correct date or time.
    • The second time the waterproofing failed and (the only time I ever wore the thing in water) it completely died
    • I kind of wish I could still see my fastest time on my walking route
    • It detects my bike speed using GPS well enough as far as I know.3
