for a soft case, it provides good padding and protection.

I just wish I could get one that has a lttle thicker material to provide better protection

but the material is great and provide excellent protection

If you want better protection, forget soft cases and get a hard case, but if you want portability, this should work fine!

Why is it that the bar is so low for a non-hardshell keyboard case that provides some reasonable protection for in-town gigs?

It's durable, easy to use, and fairly lightweight all the while offering affordable protection for your important instruments.

However will not afford the protection of a hard case.

Fits my Novation SL MKII perfectly and gives great protection with generous padding and velcro straps to hold it in place
