To everyone saying this doesn't have surge protection: The object on the end of the hot and neutral leads is a metal oxide varistor, which has extremely high resistance at household voltages and extremely low resistance in excess of those voltages

It's an attractive extension cord with three outlets and a little bit of surge protection

I ordered these because the description and product listing says “Surge Protection” in multiple places but upon receiving and opening the cords, nowhere on the box, in the box, or on the actual cord tags is there any indication that these provide surge protection at all?

Incidentally, I am using it with a powerline adapter, and the fact that it has no voltage regulation and relatively brutish surge protection actually makes it a better choice for me.
