This is a great way to double your screen space for Mac laptops - I would recommend also purchasing the "HProprietary HDMI-A and USB-A to dock port cable" which simplifies hookup - without much tech experience in these arenas, I was pleasantly surprised how quickly the setup went - the screen quality is outstanding, the additional speakers are a welcome upgrade and the travel cover protects the screen from damage - the instructions were geared toward Windows10 but, as usual, my MacBookPro tackled installation quickly - I highly recommend this screen as a quality product that is a great addition for laptop travel

If you put up a solid black screen there are huge blotchy light leakage corners and sections of the screen that even show up under regular viewing conditions, not just black with the lights out.

Short version: It's the highest-quality portable monitor with a reasonable screen size, resolution, contrast, and brightness level, and thus probably your best pick in the category if you can afford it

Viewing angles are very good (as you can expect from IPS monitors), color reproduction is spot on, and backlight bleed is virtually nil, probably in large part due to its solid screen and frame construction.
