Now, when I first add the cold water, it tastes OK at first but then tastes heavily of plastic after being in the bottle for at least 30 minutes -- and since the bottle lasts me almost all day and the point is to fill it up all the way and measure your intake over time

I like the strap a lot for carrying it and the time line to make sure you drink enough water is cute and useful

I have hand washed it numerous times (as I wouldn't trust putting in dishwasher), soaked it with hot water & dish soap (mild soap such as Dawn) by itself for several hours multiple times, and left it air

I've tried soaking in a hot water/baking soda solution overnight, tried soaking in a white vinegar/hot water/baking soda/dish soap solution overnight, tried just hot water for a while, tried just scrubbing with soap/water, and yet the water I drink out of it STILL tastes like plastic

I knew from the start my filtered water (or any water for that matter) wouldn't taste as good drinking it from a plastic bottle as it does when drinking it from a stainless steel bottle that keeps water and other beverages cold for up to 24 hours based on which one I'm using, but I was willing to accept that for the other benefits advertised with this motivational water bottle

The primary point to bottles like these are that people do NOT drink enough water, because they can't track how much they really consume

Upon receiving the bottle I had thought I was misunderstanding how to use the straw with attached mouthpiece and almost confident they wouldn't design such an innovative water bottle that would require you to touch & fumble with the mouthpiece attached to straw prior to taking a sip of water each time, as the straw moves each time you close the lid
