That said I then tried the Netgear Orbi, and my speed is dramatically faster, with internet access at the same speed as my ISP delivers throughout my entire house with no dead zones.

I had a netgear nighthawk router and extender that provided good coverage to half of the house, and poor coverage to the rest (slow speed, connection often dropped), and you can't daisy-chain the extenders.

In addition, several indepedent internet speed tests report slightly faster download/upload speeds than my old router setup - nothing over the top, it just seems to make better use of the bandwidth I'm paying for
