I have recorded great time lapses with this camera in very adverse conditions.

This was a disappointment because my bud's GP2 takes much, much, much better pictures and time lapses than this much newer model

Time lapse and burst are awesome for catching the perfect shot in a dynamic situation.

For the attached time lapse movie, I set the "field of view" to "medium", "Photo Resolution" to "5MP MED", and the "Time Lapse" setting to "1 SEC".

I bought this camera for both action shoots and time-lapse no-scope astro-photography

Once connected to the GoPro WiFi, you can use your phone to make adjustments and choose still, video, or time lapse photography.

I also have used my GoPro for longer videos to create a time lapse (put a mount on my deck to catch some nice sunsets).

I can chose to record videos, take stills, burst shots and even timed lapsed stills

and she's using ti for underwater filming as well as when they go on safari.

The camera works as it should, I'm happy with it.

I can't register it on GoPros site, but that doesn't really bother me so long as I can upload videos

He plans on using it when he does a 250 mile bike trip this summer as well as when he goes skiing next winter.
