This is not the type of game you will play and comment on how cheerful the story is.

This game is boring, and the story is extremely shallow and disappointing

it showed us there could be more to games than levels, more than high scores, and more than even a good story

The story (at least for me) was a little hard to follow, but I also just do the missions and skip the cut-scenes

The constant calls for eating/shows etc are annoying, this is not why I am playing and seems to have minimal to none as far as the story is concerned

The other characters complement the story greatly and the way they integrated the system of relationships that vastly give this game hours upon hours of drunken mayhem and lap dances.

But you won't want to, because the main story is good (at least for GTA).
