If you like a little tighter fit or you're smaller at the waist, sizing down shouldn't be an issue with the loose flowy style of the dress and it should still be fine lengthwise.

I also bought this dress in black in large and kept that one since I like the fit more however I will have to wear wedges since it’s long

I might even get an XL one just for that looser fit
