But because they only stretch for ten inches or so, there is no "action," the strings are dead, they don't flex like real guitar strings

It's a block of cheap wood with five frets and cheap strings attached to hex nuts at one end
Sadly i was very disappointed in this product, the strings don't retain their tension ever..
