I purchased from Wal-mart a Black & Decker coffee maker and it didn't have a hot plate, it was one of those thermal carafes that keep the coffee warm after it brews

I learned the warming plate has an adjustable temp setting (I overlooked this function).Also, I will add in this edit a favorable comment about the no-spill carafe
