The problem is during the coffee brewing process, the coffee grinds (obviously) get wet and swell, and hit the top of the unit where the hot water drops from.

Lastly, the biggest nuisance is that the compartment where you put your coffee grinds is not deep enough.

Handle of the coffee ground holder broke the second week of use due to heat generated from the internal thermal heating

It gets coffee ground residue on the underside and the best you can do is wipe it off

And if you want a more robust cup o' joe, you can press the brew strength button for BOLD before brewing.
