Based on our taste, I have found that using a 1/2 leveled Cup of coffee grounds per 12 Cup works well with the brew setting on BOLD.

BUT, this model has the pour spout too close to the machine so when you put your cup under for filling, if the cup is too thick at the lip (like mugs often are),coffee spills over the side instead of filling the cup - most annoying and messy.
