Good deep bass and great all around sound from these small speakers

Within a year I may live in a dorm, my family's house, and an apartment for a summer internship so having speakers that sound big but are small enough to fit in a small tub in the back of my car is a huge!The bass is rich, mids punchy, and highs clear

The bass is incredible, you will not be wanting for bass.

Compared to studio monitors (cheap ones), these not only lack mid-range response, but also, mid-range, highly separated stereo effects are attenuated because the sub handles the mids as well as bass

im not sure what active speakers at this price range are supposed to sound like, but they have great bass and mids, and treble that is balanced (id like a little more for rock and metal, but its never harsh)

The design is unlike any other multimedia/computer speaker with two, clear conical satellite speakers and a rounded, lit subwoofer enclosure with a control for adjustable bass output

The mid-bass is still somewhat directional, and still sensitive to the placement.

After eagerly awaiting my speakers to arrive with boombing bass from the box, I was a bit disappointed to find that the speakers are crisp and clear in nature, but the bass it definitely weaker than expected.

any good pair of speakers or headphones needs to BREAK-IN before full performance!!and these little speakers can be really LOUD.Look cool..bass takes a little bit to break in then sounds really well, I left them on playing random music when not in the house for a couple of days

If you want heavy bass this isn't the system for you, bass is relatively weak and muddy, sound clarity is just okspeakers make popping sounds whenever audio isn't being played, very annoying

I tried to place the bass unit behind my 27" iMac but the bass just doesn't sound quite right.

If you love bass, this is a great system

The subwoofer produces very clean and natural sounding bass that integrates surprisingly well with the speakers

However if you do want speakers that tear paint off your walls, I would suggest looking at the Z623's from Logitech... they have a considerably more powerful bass

The not only carry the bass well and does not over due it, but all the mid range and high tones come thru with perfect clarity

Absolutely the clearest sound I have ever experienced, The bass is amazing as well this relatively small unit really packs a punch for sound deepness and shakes the area in which it is set up.

Since I recently acquired these and a set of similarly-priced Logitech speakers (Z623 - $120 - http://amzn.to/1tLwJoI ),I though I'd take a moment to share how they compare:Harman Pros:- gorgeous, unique style - a real eye-catcher- a little louder than the Logitch in the mid and upper frequencies (thanks to the four cones in each speaker)Logitech Pros:- slightly cheaper (by ~$20)- louder bass, owing to the solid subwoofer cabinet- easier to handle and move- slightly more reliable sound quality (the Harmans have a few select frequencies that get a bit wonky

There is a little distortion at high volumes when the bass is turned up on the woofer, but not that bad

What you can expect from these is a decent clear sound from the LR speakers, but the bass is pretty muddy and doesn't make it down too far

My only 2 complaints are1) Power and Bass controls on the subwoofer.

The only part of the system that's capable of playing such frequencies is the sub and when dialed high enough to fill in those frequencies it becomes too boomy and colors the whole spectrum with a thick, muddy hum.- Bass is inaccurate and muddy

Amazing highs, mediums, and lows, with no distortion and a great bass

However, if you're someone who enjoys listening to music, watching movies, and playing games on a smaller screen and want clean, beautiful sound with great bass response (which you can fine tune according to your tastes) then you simply can't do any better at this price point

The speakers are performing very well on headphone jack of notebook as well as on external DAC/soundcard

I've been using it for more than two years with my computer as well as with my Large TV.In overall, the music sounds good and the movie dialogue is clearly presented

Built quality is not as good as to the first generation of production

My only complaint is that the rubberized feet of the speakers have a tendency to retain dust, necessitating a through cleaning.

And the woofer leaves nothing to be desired: it thumps, hums and bumps exactly as you would want
