The first item was defective, with loose wires in the right speaker.
-
The cable that is hard wired to the subwoofer is defective so off to the shop they go
-
They are decidedly better than the II's (which were already the bomb) for a few reasons: The aux cable isn't hard wired into the subwoofer, so you can actually change it when it gets old and finicky; the speakers can be turned off by pressing in the subwoofer's dial, where in the old model you needed to hold down the lower volume sensor; the bases are now a nice black instead of pearlescent, which goes way better with all the black electronics at my desk
-
Mainly a wire that has come loose in the sub woofer and vibrates creating a very loud buzzing noise even on medium volume
-
The wires that are built in to the sub and pair of satellite speakers are really well built and great wire size with a silver braid around em, again not flimsy!Sound quality is damn
-
at least I don't, so it takes up less space and there's no annoying wire issue
-
Additionally the wiring has been improved with a clear rubbery insulation over a silvery braid
-
wires went bad on 1 speaker pretty quickly
-
The bad: speakers are hard wired at back, however cable is supposed to be quite strong and makes set up simpler
-
They look nice but too many wires.
-
Too many unnecessary wires just to hook up these three units
-
When the friction fails, just the (flimsy) wires connecting to the speakers in the sticks hold the wire connecting to the subwoofer!(2
-
The sound is excellent and volume can go as loud as I like.

Ultimately tried to return and received a series of belligerent e-mails from the seller about how "this had never occurred in the history of the company".Unfortunately, when buying anything second hand through Amazon you are rolling the dice
