I went to a local music shop and bought a proper cable and 20 minutes later my project was completed

The cable LED indicator lights up - and a PC even recognizes the USB

To use the cable as a master in logic, the out of the cable has to be connected to the IN of the 2488 recorder

This cable would make notes hang on each other and pretty much made it impossible to record anything

but I suppose thats the cost of a cheap cable.

I do wish the cable was a little longer as even at 6', it still seems to be reach from the keyboard to PC, but there never seems to be enough cable length on all the gear I have crammed in here.

Not the end of the world at $6.50 - but the cable is not compatible with OS X Lion or Mountain Lion - something Apple changed with the USB libraries in the OS after Snow Leopard
