I ordered an M-Audio Midisport Uno USB interface cable, installed its own driver, and it works

Even using Windows XP, the drivers were easily installed and it worked perfectly

This cable doesn't include drivers and multiple generic drivers didn't even work

Some programs have drivers for these built in, and it's not too hard to install a generic one, of course every time you add another element to the data stream your more likely to have lag (latency issues)

Works perfect, just make sure you plug it into the same USB drive every time to avoid repetitive driver installs.
